I didn’t even think I was a Shondaland stan…until now.
*I think this was Shonda’s first comedy, and it’s great
*writing is quick and pithy
*music is a critical part of the storytelling
*Uzo Aduba must win something for this - she brings Detective Cupp to life as a dry, powerful, brilliant woman. It is refreshing to see a strong female character, openly aware of her intelligence and superiority and Randall Park plays off her so perfectly
*i spent the entire eight episodes amazed at how they jump back and forth in time, slowly zooming out on everything you see to paint a more whole picture as Cordelia unravels the mystery - it is excellent
*it is so funny and just when you think you can’t watch another episode inside the white house, they shift gears. One episode made me cry.
*interesting to have the exposition be in the setting of the senate hearing
*I did have a pretty strong hunch who the murderer was (and was right) and it did not stop me from loving this show - so many twists and turns along the way
